SLIK PRO 700DX Professional Tripod with Panhead (615-315)

SLIK PRO 700DX Professional Tripod with Panhead (615-315)SLIK's exclusive A.M.T. tremendous titanium alloy legs make the PRO 700 DX tripod rock steady yet lighter than it looks. The A.M.T. alloy has a 40% greater strength to weight ration than standard aluminum, meaning the legs are lighter weight yet stronger than the standard metal used in most of today's tripods. Able to handling the weight of massive format (4x5) field cameras or heavy, long telephoto lenses, The PRO 700 DX offer professional photographers and advanced amateurs the strength and stability they need while its size, and the use of A.M.T. alloy, make it lighter weight and more transportable than THE PROFESSIONAL series. A tripod ought to be simple to make use of, so that that you spend more time concentrating on your photography than you do your equipment. The PRO 700 DX makes setting up simple with secure yet speedy speed release leg locks, gearless middle column, and three position adjustable angle leg locks for simple set up on uneven ground or steps. The adjustable angle locks combined with the PRO 700 DX Short Column (optional accessory) permit the tripod to be lowered to 15 inches for low angle, or macro photography in the field. The included PRO 700 DX all-metal 3-way pan head has of the fasted and simplest to make use of speedy release plates in the industry. SLIK made a circular speedy release plate that can secure the camera to the tripod pointing in any direction, making attaching your camera (one time the SLIK speedy release plate is attached) more intuitive than most other heads that have squared off or angled plates.Value, today it is more important then ever. Compare the cost and features of the PRO 700 DX to other manufacturers' professional camera supports and you will notice that dollar for dollar and feature for feature, this is of the best values in a professional tripod available.

My favourite part of this tripod technique has to be the simple but smart "Quick Shoe" it is round & pops in & out with a flick of the locking lever. Mounting the shoe to the camera is simple with the mount screw that is fixed to the middle of the shoe.. tuist untill it is tight. I have no issues leaving this mounted to my cameras on a regular basis. Some other brands stick out so that you can not set the camera down without making it unstable... & other shoes are  impossible to mount firmly to the camera.

This tripod has handy bubble levels, a max height of 74 inches (great for us taller photographers) & an optional short middle colum for low level shots.

Buy this tripod & it ought to outlast your camera.

This is the first ballhead tripod that I have bought. It is not the most costly. But it fit in to my budget. And so far it's done everything I have wanted it to. It is a small heavyier than I wanted it to be, but that is me. For anyone beginning out and looking for something at a lovely cost, I would recommend it.

Manfrotto 501HDV Video Head - Replaces 501

Manfrotto 501HDV Video Head - Replaces 501

keep in mind that in the event you stick with it & increase your skills,
then you will finally hit the wall with this head's capabilities.
If you require a USEABLE "Entry Level" Liquid Head - this is five Stars all the way!!
No, seriously... for the money it cannot be beat.
But like I said, it is about the money!
& if you are looking for the most bang for your budgetary bucks,
then the Manfrotto 501HDV Liquid Head is what you require.
I got mine as a kit about four years ago, & it came with an wonderful set of
Manfrotto sticks (531MVB2) that are still going strong after A LOT of use (& abuse).
I only recently upgraded those sticks with the newly released Manfrotto 504HD liquid head.
WOW, what a difference. & now my 501HDV lives on-top of my Kessler Crane Slider.
So years later, I am still getting great mileage out of this elderly workhorse 501HDV head.

Tripod Sprinkler

Tripod Sprinkler
This sprinkler is great! It has a much more even coverage than pulsating sprinklers and can be adjusted to heavy coverage or a fine mist coverage. I bought mine through a mail order catalog a couple of years ago and have been looking for it on the internet for a while. I am so glad to have found it again.
This incredible bright yellow tripod sprinkler has an extendable neck for varying your watering patterns. The neck adjusts from 25" to 34", covers up to a 20' wide area. It features two-way selectable nozzles --- the adjustable nozzles can be set to various driplet sizes from stream to fine spray. The fogging nozzles are perfect for misting newly seeded lawns, bedding plants and fresh transplants.

Ravelli AVT Video Camera Tripod with Fluid Drag Head

Ravelli AVT Video Camera Tripod with Fluid Drag Head
       by Toni R
I must say, not knowing what to anticipate when I ordered this, I am impressed by this product. I was one times taking a look at a Manfrotto 501 tripod package, & saw their commercial for this in the used section claiming to be as nice at that at 1/4 the cost. Needless to say I was one times skeptical, but was willing to risk 89 dollars to see if their claims were true. The nice: The sticks are awesome & are worth 89 bucks alone. In fact, you'd must pay times as much to get sticks approaching these in quality. They are built like a tank & give rock solid stability. I put my 9 pound camera rig (FX-1,35mm adapter, rails) & felt confident running away from it. The speedy release plate is well made (& you receive a spare!), & you get fully adjustable pan/tilt handles. You also receive a pleasant bag with a carrying strap. The bad: The head is not as nice as the Manfrotto 501, which I have used extensively. The liquid motion in the tilt feels smooth & strong with no stiction, but the panning is not as nice. To get it to cease & and start smoothly I had to loosen it over I'd like. Also, the drag controls are not as fine as that on the 501. & while the description says the sticks have a non-rollback middle column this is not true, at least mine didn't. You need to screw it back tight to keep it from rolling down after raising it. Overall though I am impressed with the build quality, & for 89 bucks you'd be hard-pressed to discover a better tripod.

Fancier Professional Heavy Duty Video Camcorder Tripod Fluid Drag Head Kits by Fancier WF717 Black

Fancier Professional Heavy Duty Video Camcorder Tripod Fluid Drag Head Kits by Fancier WF717 Black
      by armando S
A tiny background on my experiences. I am a professional cinematographer and camera operator. I chiefly use Bogen/ Manfrotto, Libec, and O'conner gear. I have lots of experience with nice solid pro gear. I bought this on a lark being that the cost was so nice, and I figured I would give it a try before purchasing a tripod/ head and drop close to a grand. I love it! It is light, but long lasting. a bit short, but put it on a tripod dolly and it fixes that issue. The head is smooth and actually lovely. I would say it is about on par with a 503. impressed. My only complaint is that the spreader is fixed, and on top of that it is plastic and I highly doubt it will support a nice size sand bag. If this had a nice spreader I would have given it three stars. All in all, I am happy with the acquisition and this is a great product. I would not use it for anything heavier than 8-10 pounds tho.

Gilmour Extra Large Coverage Sprinkler With Adjustable Tripod Base …

Gilmour Extra Large Coverage Sprinkler With Adjustable Tripod Base 199TRI1
     by deny sw
This summer there was not very any rain & our grass was drying up! They bought several sprinklers locally & they were not satisfactory. They looked on Amazon.com & found this, they ordered & although its at the finish of the grass growing season they hooked them up to the hose to see if they would be satisfied for next summer. These sprinklers put out a nice spray of water & cover a large section at time. They look forward to having a green yard with or without rain next year.

Polaroid 72" Photo / Video ProPod Tripod Includes Deluxe Tripod

Polaroid 72" Photo / Video ProPod Tripod Includes Deluxe Tripod Carrying Case + Additional Quick Release Plate For Digital Cameras & Camcorders
   by Deny S W
BEWARE the weight rating clamed on other sites for this tripod!

I give this tripod stars. star for the nice bag it came in as well as a second star for the tripod legs being semi-sturdy.

The pan-head is hideous to say the least and can only support 2-4 pounds well. While most of the tripod is constructed of aluminum, the head is plastic and there is NO tension adjuster for the pan-head. I tore off the pan-head minutes after un-boxing it and replaced with an elderly ball-head I had lying around. Works fine now..

Manfrotto 322RC2 Joystick Head Short

Manfrotto 322RC2 Joystick Head ShortADVANTAGES
Speed, Sharing, Safety, & SnappingPictures
Speed: When you need to move the scope, you do not waste time turning any handles to unlock. Squeeze & go. When you find the target, you do not waste time turning any handles to lock. Unsqueeze & there you are.
Some users of the typical long-handle screw-tighten heads (like the Bogen 3130) work around this issue by screwing down the controls until they are "almost tightened" & then overriding the resistance to pan & tilt. This workaround fails for Sharing, Safety, & SnappingPictures.

     by Sarah
Sharing: when you find the target & step back to share your scope, there is no danger that your daughter will accidentally bump the scope & lose the target. He might bump the scope, but he won't lose the target. The 322RC2 has locked tightly in position & won't budge.

Safety: you don't must worry that a powerful breeze or thoughtless passerby will tip the scope, causing it to swing abruptly & painfully to a vertical position & bash in to the tripod which then falls over. The 322RC2 has locked tightly in position & won't budge.

SnappingPictures: You don t must worry that your digicam will cause the scope to wobble off target. The 322RC2 has locked tightly in position & won't budge.

DISADVANTAGES
Strength, Smoothness.

Strength: You need to have a strong grip to squeeze & hold that trigger while panning / tilting.

OTHER
Note that the 322RC2 can mount vertically (not useful with telescopes) or horizontally either left- or right-handed. If the marketing picture only shows a vertical position - - ignore it.

Smoothness: the motion is not as smooth & refined as the long-handle type heads. Nevertheless I can find & track targets with no difficulty. Fine tuning (nudge field of vision a teeny bit to make the ideal composition) is a bit clumsy but I can change satisfactorily anyway.

Polaroid 72" Photo / Video ProPod Tripod Includes Deluxe Tripod Carrying Case + Additional Quick Release Plate For Digital Cameras & Camcorders
      By antoni
I was looking for a tripod that was light weight, tall and compact.
For it is size it is light weight and straightforward to carryover. It's better than ideal height. My elderly tripod I had to bend/stoop for some shots, not with this. the legs are basically adjustable and the handle makes it simple to move without folding it all up. I like having the speedy release plates for my cameras' it saves plenty of time. The carrying case is nicer than the I have with my elderly tripod. The legs are beefyer which gives the tripod better stability but it doesn't make it heavy. I love it.

Manfrotto 496RC2 Ball Head with Quick Release Replaces Manfrotto 486R…

Manfrotto 496RC2 Ball Head with Quick Release Replaces Manfrotto 486RC2
     by Deny S W
This head is definitely lighter than my 488rc2, but with the QR plate folded over, it is only about .25" shorter. So, from a packing point of view, it is nothing to write home about.

The new friction knob is OK. I suspect that if I was keeping this head, I'd come to like it.

There is a "bearing" between the body & the bottom plate of the head, but it was VERY stiff. So stiff that I ended up moving the ball in the socket in lieu of rotating the whole head.

The show stopper for me is the panning, which is non-existent. Yes, I do know there is no panning knob, but from the reviews & Amazon's description ("the 360° pan movements") I was hoping to be able to carefully pan. But that wasn't happening with the Amazon shipped me.

In the event you don't care to make panoramas, this is a respectable head. I'd be inclined, however, to look at the 494rc2 in lieu. It is a bit smaller, & significantly smaller than my 488rc2.

Manfrotto 190CXPRO3 3-Section Pro Carbon Fiber Tripod without Head
       by  Anton W
For under $300 this is a tremendous tripod in carbon fiber.
Tight, smooth, & stable.

The middle column also switches to 90' horizontal quickly, but cannot lock at different angles (vertical or horizontal only). It does not come with a over bag or leg protectors, which for carbon fiber is more important, so you may need to factor that in to the cost when comparing it is value. I am 6'1" tall, & this is JUST adequately high, but the height of the Manfrotto 055 series is probably better for people 6' to 6'6". The comparable 055 CF tripod was $150 more though, which for me wasn't worth 60% more cost for 6" more height. I put the Manfrotto 322RC2 head on it, which is versatile, & can actually be mounted vertically like a joystick for the additional height, so I am happy with the tripod overall.

I like the feel & weight of the carbon fiber & it supposedly dampens vibration better, but if cost is key, you would probably do as well with aluminum. I read that the three section tripods can have a narrow bottom section, which is more fragile, less stable, & more pricey. I don't be concerned much about its minumum folded up size, so I stayed away from the three section, & went for the stability & cost of the three section.

A middle column that could lock at more angles, leg protectors, over bag, 6" more height are all things that could bring this up from three stars, but would also increase the cost. I did finish up purchasing the leg protectors separately for carrying it around.

I'd only ever used cheapo aluminum tripods before, so this is a immense step up in quality & stability.
I am tremendous happy with this tripod & would highly recommend it. In the event you are over 6' though, I would compare it against a Manfrotto 055XPROB before deciding.

Hope this helps.

Dolica AX620B100 62-Inch Proline Tripod and Ball Head

Dolica AX620B100 62-Inch Proline Tripod and Ball Head
           by andre
I took out the silver box with a white font sabyying PROLINE on it, opened it & saw my tripod bag. The tripod bag is tidy & well stitched, I can see it will finally last for a long time. The strap is firm & I can wear it all day without it hurting me. There is little pocket inside the tripod, I unzipped the pocket & found this octagon screwdriver inside, I was once wondering what this tripod needed it for. I looked around my tripod & saw a octagon formed screw on the ball head, I am guessing it is for removing the ball head if a replacement is necessary.

My Dolica Proline AX620B100 came in a immense box from Amazon. I opened it & there was a smaller box inside which was my Tripod box with a bunch of brown recycling papers around it they used for padding.

The best thing about this tripod is the icy ball head, you can adjust it to shoot vertically or horizontally & move the camera to shoot up & down, & what is great is there is lever you need to pop out to adjust this. I went on a photograph shoot yesterday with my tripod at the Japanese garden in my community college & it is great. The instructions say it can hold up to a tiny over 13 lbs, but I don't know if it is the tripod itself or the head. Another thing I do know is the head is actually lovely & looks like it can hold a a weight, but I query if it can actually hold 13.

I unzipped the bag & took out my tripod. The tripod itself is light, it must weigh a tiny over two lbs. The tripod feels sturdy & stable, there's these soft squishy padding that wraps around the top of each leg & of them says PROLINE in front of it. At the bottom of each legs are rubber feet & hiding it are little metal spikes that you twist the feet for it to come out. Twist it in the opposite direction to hide them back so it doesn't wear out if you are using it on cement. Most of it is aluminum but there's some plastic but the plastic are not cheap & are respectable at least. There is as well as a hook at the bottom of the long pole extension between the two legs, you can add weight to it to weigh down the tripod.

It is quick to take out your camera from your tripod & re-attach it. There is this lever that you need to press along with another button to remove it, you need to pop the camera back onto the tripod & the lever will pop back in it is place securing your camera.

There is as well as a little compass on the tripod although I will probably never need it.

This tripod is well worth the cost. This is the first tripod I have bought. My mate has a Sunpak tripod that I use before I bought my own, & all I can say is my tripod is much better than his for the money. I did research before I bought my tripod & because I ended up purchasing this tripod, I knew this tripod would not disappoint & it didn't
